A day in Amsterdam when we met our former foreign exchange student Julia.

The Rendevous

The Rendevous

We failed to connect with Julia by phone, but received a garbled message through the hotel staff to meet her at the black coffee house with a lot of bicycles in front of it. When we arrived at the train station, everything looked like a black coffee house with a lot of bicycles in front of it but this one was our best guess. I took this picture to prove to Julia that we had attempted to meet up with her, and lo, several minutes later, she showed up. There is one rule to travel, trust in serendipity.

Despite what you may have heard about Dutch food, dining in Amsterdam can be a religious experience.
